Who was or who is Jesus? The answer to this great question can determine the trajectory, purpose and outcome of your life! Was he a real historical figure? Almost every credible historian knows that Jesus existed as a man. He lived 2000 years ago in the Middle East in ancient Palestine. But was he just an ancient historical figure, or something more?
Some say he was a good man, a prophet, a miracle worker. Others think he was myth or a farce. For the many people who believe he existed, they see him as a deceiver or opportunist or even an anarchist. Just about everyone who’s ever heard of Jesus has their own idea of who He is.
But who did Jesus say he was? What someone says about themselves is important, even if it’s questionable! Jesus called himself the Son of Man, the Son of God, Messiah and Savior of the world. If Jesus was just a person, then his claims at worst were false and at best were unfulfilled. But if he did what he said he would do, which is rise from the dead after being tortured and crucified, then he really was who he said he was – the Savior, the Messiah and the son of God.
